Signed Clément Castelli, 1938. Clément Castelli b: 14.01.1870 – d. 1959. Born in Italy, moved to Paris in 1880, a member of the Mountain Painters Society, he spent most of his career painting in the  French, Swiss and Italian Alps. The canvas and frame signed and stamped with the artists own ink seal. Original frame.

La Meije is a mountain in the Massif des Ecrins range, located at the border of the Haute-Alpes and Isére départements. It overlooks the nearby village of La Grave, a mountaineering centre and ski resort, well known for its off-piste and extreme skiing possibilities.
